Ms. Woods is using the following steps to promote not only her latest release but also her previously written titles as well. We all know that word of mouth is very powerful and goes far, though it's not the easiest to keep it going. Ms. Woods has made a commitment to herself to be positive about book promoting. It's often the worst nightmare authors face and they'd rather go through the pains of rewriting their book again over having to self-promote. But Ms. Woods made a plan to accomplish what she can and what she's willing to do in order to promote her books. Here is what she's done so far or has plans to accomplish: 1. Started networking way before the book launched, building relationships, knowing an awaiting audience is half the battle. 2. Worked on getting noticed, becoming discovered to drive sales by getting book reviews, outsourcing by purchasing low cost advertising, taking interviews. Her ads can be seen on Lisa's Kids' Book Reviews at http://bookrev.wix.com/4kidsbooks (19,960 site visits in less than 30 days) and Night Breeze Discoveries at http://bookrev.wix.com/nbdads#!children/cuh0 (1,235 site visits in 15 days); her interview at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1383418908649196/ among other groups and posts. 3. Working on her social media accounts. She is on Facebook located at https://www.facebook.com/woodsleah1, find her on Twitter at https://twitter.com/leahwoodsauthor; her message to friends is, "If you are on twitter please look me up and follow me as I am trying to build my twitter account." Ms. Woods is on Goodreads as well. She may work on setting up accounts with Google+, LinkedIn, and Pinterest next to be well covered. 4. Thinking about setting up a book giveaway through Goodreads or even participating in the LibraryThing.com. 5. She uses a professional photo across all social media, websites, book jackets, interviews, etc, to give a uniform and memorable presence. 6. She has put together a promo kit including images, links, book excerpts, and reviews so it's easy to send to bloggers, newspapers, and others at the touch of a button. 7. She has a cover that sells; Ramona the Reindeer is adorable. 8. She's even gone to video with a book trailer using Kizoa, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBVgYE-msNI&feature=share, which shows creativity and adds to her promoting efforts. She can share the trailer over YouTube, Facebook, Google+, Goodreads, blogs, magazines, newspapers, etc. 9. Another step Ms. Woods may take is making up business cards with a picture of her latest book on one side and her contact information on the reverse. In doing so, everywhere she goes she has something to hand out or start a conversation, but ultimately promote herself and her books. This is one author to watch as with her drive and determination, she is on a quest to possibly making it to bestseller.
